We are proud to announce our successful integration with Loway's QueueMetrics-Live call-center suite.

Loway's QueueMetrics-Live call-center suite, is now fully integrated with Wazo IPBX.

One of the strengths of Wazo is that the administrator can modify the system to add new features or override default behaviors that are not appropriate to its use case. There are many ways to extend Wazo.

Currently, you can:

• Add dialplan files with hooks for each destination
• Add python code to extend the functionality of most services
• Add files to the system or install packages to get more features

One of the aspect that was still cruelly missing was a way to distribute and easily install those extensions. Having to download a zip file, extract it and copy files wherever they are required is not ideal, especially when it comes to removing an extension.

Wazo plugins will fill that gap.

I am asked quite regularly the difference between XiVO and Wazo in terms of features. There are now many, but one of the first that we implemented was simply to provide a completely user-oriented web interface to manage your day to day telephony. The development of this interface was completely web-based, using our APIs and meant to be "cloud" based. It had to be simple to use, easy to set up and mobility was a requirement. Finally Unicom was born.

On me demande assez régulièrement la différence entre XiVO et Wazo en terme de fonctionnalités. Il en existe maintenant beaucoup, mais une des premières que nous avons mises en œuvre était tout simplement de fournir une interface complètement web orientée utilisateur pour gérer sa téléphonie de tous les jours. Le développement de cette interface se voulait complètement web, utilisant nos APIs et aussi orienté vers l'aspect "CLOUD". Il fallait que cela soit simple à utiliser, simple à mettre en place et que la mobilité soit au rendez-vous. Finalement Unicom est né.

Ngrok is a software allowing its users to create reverse tunnels to access a server from the Internet. It's secure and easy to use. It's very useful to grant access to an internal API over the Internet without having to configure network equipment. It also allows you to create an SSH access to get help from the Wazo developers or another member of our community.

Ngrok est un logiciel permettant de monter simplement un tunnel inversé pour accéder à votre machine depuis internet. C'est sécurisé et simple à utiliser. C'est très pratique pour exposer par exemple une API interne sur internet sans avoir à configurer pleins d'équipements. Cela peut aussi vous permettre de donner la main en SSH simplement à notre équipe pour vous faire un support distant.

Depuis plusieurs mois nous travaillons activement pour améliorer Wazo et le rendre le plus ouvert possible. La dernière version 17.07 mets en lumière nos derniers travaux et nos développements actuels autour de Wazo. Vous découvrirez ainsi : une nouvelle interface web basée sur nos APIs REST, une place de marché pour permettre d'étendre Wazo facilement, des nouvelles fonctionnalités comme les menus vocaux, les lignes multiples pour un utilisateur, etc.

Mais nous avons encore quelques surprises pour vous au cours des prochains mois ! Avec en tête l'objectif de créer une plateforme de téléphonie à votre image, vous permettant de construire votre système sur mesure, il nous est apparu nécessaire de développer un outil rendant possible l'interconnexion avec une plateforme proposant plus de 700 autres produits intéressants sur le marché.

J'ai donc commencé un travail d'un connecteur sur une plateforme appelée Zapier. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas rendez-vous directement sur leur site web et créez vous un compte pour tester, c'est gratuit.

Wazo 17.07 is the first release embedding the future replacement of the administration web interface of Wazo.

The current admin interface of Wazo is aging, and its internal design is significantly slowing down the development of other components. We've been extracting logic from this admin interface in the last years into REST APIs, and we're now confident enough that we can start a much lighter version of the admin interface, entirely supported by the REST APIs.

So, you can try this admin interface by visiting https://<wazo_ip>/admin.

Wazo is a full featured IPBX using Asterisk. It has many functionalities implemented in its configuration interface and many API to configure your telephony system. But sometimes what you need is simply missing. This article will show some common ways to modify your Wazo server to use features from Asterisk that are not available in the wide range of Wazo tools.
